The 4-4 Jazz Band formed at the beginning of 2006, combining four experienced musicians from existing Jazz bands. We wanted to provide uncomplicated, acoustic, traditional New Orleans style Jazz to suit a relaxed setting. We try to use our instruments in the way they were intended - without heavy amplifiers and effects. This gives us a clear, well balanced sound without the need for ear defenders - you can still hold a conversation as we play! (We do use a small amplifier to stop John from running out of breath.)

We specialise in acoustic venues - garden parties, fetes, street fairs, cafes and restaurants etc. We can provide a small portable amplifier for the vocals which runs on batteries, so we can operate without any power supply. For that little extra something at your next party - why not give us a call?

Depending on the amount of travel involved, our fee is around £180, payable in cash at the end of the gig. This covers the costs of fuel, rehearsals, equipment etc and is extremely competitive! We usually play for 3 hours with two short breaks. We can also offer a five - piece band for an extra £40 (add a trombone!).
