BEARWOOD turnery
Welcome to Bearwoodturnery.co.uk - thankyou for
visiting.
Nestled near the foot of Hambledon Hill within the wooded, rolling countryside
of Jurassic Dorset lies the workshop of Bearwood turnery. It is in these
beautiful surroundings that turner Darren Wheeler reveals some of the beauty
that nature has hidden beneath the bark of our native British trees, which
are the envy of the timber industry worldwide. Mainly taking timber from
local sources such as tree surgeons and estates, Darren attempts to reveal
what has been secret for sometimes hundreds of years.
Darren's workshop is capable of short run production work or creating single
unique pieces.
Bearwood Turnery can be followed on Facebook! Find us
here.
During Dorset Art Weeks, Darren will be doing daily demos, with his 10 year
old daughter Katie offering gentle activities for the younger ones; at weekends
refreshments will be offered with donations to either the village hall or
church. Visit DAW's web
site here
for full address and directions.
Opening times for DAW are 10am until 7pm every day during the event.
